Essay 2

Alzheimer's disease

Introduction
Throughout our lives, we are constantly in risk of contract a disease, because we are alive, and because we, like human beings, are vulnerable. Nevertheless, with the years we are more and more in risk, so, when we are older, and we can see it in our familiar history, it's more probably contract a disease. In fact, some diseases just arrive in the old age.
Not for nothing people says "Teme a la vejez, pues nunca viene sola", because the people not die because their years, if not because some diseases that get worse to us, that transform us in other persons, and in occasions, it makes us forget ourselves.
One of this diseases, and one of the most "painful" and feared, are the "Alzheimer".

Body
"Alzheimer'disease is an irreversible, progressive brain disorder that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills, and eventually the ability to carry out the simplest tasks" (National Institute on Aging). Alzheimer is a disease that appear mostly in the old people and affect their memory. This disease don't have clear symptons and for that it's difficult to diagnose and difficult to treat, but are some signs that help us to notice and act about alzheimer's disease. Some of them are: changes of memory that difficulty the quotidian life, difficulty for plan and solve problems, desorientation, changes in the humor and the personality, etc.

In other words, Alzheimer's disease means that the person affected not just lost their memory, if not they lose everything that makes them who they are, until to forget everything, even how to breathe. For that we can say (on the contrary to other illness) that is not only a painful disease, if not also a difficult disease to cope for the affected person, but also for their family members.

Currently, it doesn't exist a cure for alzheimer's disease, but exist some medicines to help to control or postpone their symptons for a time, especially in the early stages of the disease.

Conclusion
In summary, we can say that the Alzheimer's disease is a degenerative disease in which the person affected lose their memory but not just the memories, if not all the things that a person have to do to survive, to live. Like we say previously, alzheimer is an illness that affect the most to old people and for that, work in this illness and its cure is responsability of all of us, for our future and for humanity future, and their wwl-being.
Like someone say one time, "Las personas mayores son la memoria de un pueblo y maestros de la vida. Cuando una sociedad no cuida a sus ancianos, niega sus propias raíces y simplemente sucumbe, Por ellos, por ti: Recuerda sus olvidos".
Because they lose their memory, but we don't.

Essay 1

The sound of music
Introduction: - Musicals.
Body: - Musicals of the epoque.
           - The sound of music.
Conclusion: - Musicals films in the present.

Introduction
"La música expresa aquello que no puede decirse con palabras pero no puede permanecer en silencio" - Victor Hugo.
The musical film is a cinematograpich genre characterized by movies that contain interruptions in it, to give to sung musicals pieces that sometimes are accompany by a choreography. In 1927, was the premiere of "El cantor de jazz", considered the first movie with sound, but in fact it was a semi silent movie that just sound in the songs parts. For that, the history says that the musicals films like genre was born actually in 1929 with "La melodía de Broadway".
In the beginning, this genre have like principal objective impress, independent of his connection with the history, but with its development, the musicals numbers works like connectors of the history. Is in this way that we can understand the phrase that Victor Hugo says, the music express that it can't say with words but it can't remain in silence. Is this the importance of musicals films, that say with a song the things that it can't say it with words.

Body
Over the years the musicals films pass for different moments. We can see its beginning, its boom and also its decline. It's precisely in the 60's that the last moment aforementioned was occur. In the 60's born extraordinaries musicals like: "West side story" (1961), "My fair lady" (1964), "Mary Poppins" (1964) and "The sound of music" (1965). It's about this film that I will talk about in the present essay, but like we say previously, it is important to understand that in this decade, this genre start its decline. The preferences of the public was changing and the genre announce its retirement.
However, this genre leave us big films and works, like The sound of music.

In 1965 was the premiere of "The sound of music", a movie directed by Robert wise and starred for Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. The argument of the movie are expound a few months before Austria was unified to the Germany of Hitler. Is a movie based on the broadway musical of the same name. The film is about a novice named Maria who is sent to the home of a widower captain of the former Austrian imperial navy called Georg Von Trapp to work as a governess to his seven children. There, the girl will befriend the children and fall in love with the captain, who is about to marry Baroness Elsa Schroeder.

Conclusion
Like we say previously in the 60's the genre of musical films start its decline. Currently, in the decade of 2000 a new boom in musical movies began, but they were mostly for teenagers about the conflicts of this age. Then it began to fall again, becoming now a little-known genre. However, although there are not many musicals at present, music as a soundtrack is increasingly present.
For now we can keep the memories, teachings and unforgettable stories that surround and tell the old musical movies as the sound of music.

How things works

The book
Introduction
"El problema real no es si las máquinas piensan, sino si lo hacen los hombres" - B. F. Skinner.
The technology appear be the most important thing in our world today. In this context, the humans have developed and create a lot of technological objects for make our life more easier and comfortable. For this, they have created unimaginable things and take the technology to another level with science, investigation, imagination, creativity and machines (that is also a technological object created for humans). In the present, we can say that the most important debate is about how far we can become and how can we progress in the technological matter. In fact, the progess, today, it's measure about how is our technology. In this way we can say that the machines are dominate and invade us. For that, we can ask ourself the same question that B. F. Skinner do, and concentrate not in the machines anymore, if not in the humans beings and the developed of our minds.
It's for that I will talk about the book, a technological object that for me cover all the previously mentioned, I mean, is the best answer for us.

Body
A book is a work print, manuscript or painted in sheets of various materials, but like we all know today, mostly in paper. There is not information about who invented it because the writing date about a very antique epoque, when the humans beings write in a piece of stone. We know that because there are people who it's dedicated to study about this facts, and the materials or tools that the humans beings take in the antiquity. For that, we can say about the book that is a technological object that is evolved in the time, with the humans and the materials available for us.

Use a book is the most easy thing to do in the world, but I really think that even though read is for all the people, not all can do it, because you need a few things that not all want to enhance. But first, for read a book you need just opened it and read. For this you need good light, to not force the strain and  preferably, be in a comfortable place. The most important thing to know is that you can read a book anywhere. Like I say previously, do you need a few things more. This is a big imagination, desire to dream and a lot concentration for understand so many realities and so many worlds. I mean, the possibility to enter to another world and be another person. This is all you need to read a book, nothing more.

In general, all of us have books in our houses or schools, or our places of work. So, the books aren´t difficult to get. I think that the book was an object created to help us in our lifes; but not like the most of the technological objects, for do our life more easier, if not to help our hearts and minds to be bigger and never stop dreaming. This is the thing that the book does for human beings, help us to do better persons, foment our imagination and our feelings. The book help us to be ourselves.

Conclusion
“De los diversos instrumentos inventados por el hombre, el más asombroso es el libro; todos los demás son extensiones de su cuerpo… Sólo el libro es una extensión de la imaginación y la memoria”.  - Jorge Luis Borges.
The "book" represents, for me, the most important and special piece that we have, like humans.
Like Jorge Luis Borges says, a book is an object invented like an extension of our memory and our imagination, because with the book we can remember our history and the history of the world, but also we can imagine an entire new world that appear to be impossible.
Is for that I consider the book like the most important technological object created by and for humans beings, because what are we without the mind and soul? anything less humans beings.
Without "the book" we all are just beings, but not humans.

Venezuelan conflict
Background: Venezuela is a Latin American country that establish a formal democracy in the 60's. For that, when the most part of the Latin American territory was affected because of dictatorships, this is in the 70's and 80's mostly, Venezuela was look like the country that escape from military dictatorship. In that time, it was look like a prosperous and plenty country.
However, this isn't just like that, because the poverty was grow in the time.  In 1992, Chávez, a venezuelan soldier, try a failed coup against the government, which was repressive and "killer". He failed, and he was incarcerate, but for the venezuelan people, he was the men who fight for them. All this facts bring to that in 1998, Chávez was elect for the people for been the venezuelan president. Nicolás maduro was minister and also vice president in this government for after, replace Chávez like the president of Venezuelan. In the present, he is leading the country, but not "a prosperous and plenty country" if not a conflict country.

Problem: In the present, we can talk about the "Venezuelan conflict".

Ahimsa; the fight for the peace.

Imagen relacionada

"Ahimsa" means not violence, and is one of the ideas that guide the fight of Mahatma Gandhi, and of course, so many others. Ahimsa is a word that came from Hinduism but was coin or introduce for Gandhi to us.
It's difficult to talk about this in the present world, because even when the most of people want or just talk about wish peace when the time's arrived, when we are in a difficult situation, in problems, when we see an unfair world, the most of the people is violent.
For me, want peace, or believe in peace, is synonymous of not violence.
I think that could exist the "fight for the peace", that this world can be peaceful, that a fight for injustice can be peaceful too. I think that deny this is just an excuse. I understand and respect the other opinions, But I believe that if someone says that it's not other way to do the things, to fight for a fair world that violence, I believe securely that is an option, but not the truth.
Ahimsa is more than a word, more than an ideal, even more than a fight for peace, "ahimsa" is a lifestyle, is something to think, to believe and to defend everyday.
Maybe it's difficult. Maybe it's not the best, but there is a reason.
"Ojo por ojo y el mundo acabará ciego". - Gandhi.
